Kristin Sheila King(Karnik), age 42, of Broomfield, Colorado passed away at home on January 12, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Kristin was born in Denver, CO January 7, 1971. She was born to and is survived by her parents Patricia Karnik(Thompson), now married to Richard Moore, and Gary James Karnik, now married to Kathy Karnik. She was married to William Richard King on September 5th, 1999 in Ft. Collins, CO. She and Bill settled in Ft. Collins for 3 years before moving to Erie and then Broomfield, CO. Kristin graduated from Ft. Collins High school in 1989. She graduated from Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangley, CO in 1992 with an AAS degree in Dental Hygiene. Kristin was a dental hygienist in Ft.Collins, CO for 13 yrs. Most of that time was spent at the practice of Dr. Cary Sanders DDS. Kristin enjoyed many outdoor activities including soccer, camping, hiking, boating, water and snow skiing. She took great joy in motherhood and loved participating in the wide variety of activities the kids enjoy.
Kristin is survived by her wonderful, loving husband Bill and her beautiful children Brooke, Blake and Brielle. Additional survivors on Kris's side of the family include her sister Lisa Anderson, married to Daniel Anderson; brother Todd Karnik, married to Ashley Karnik; nieces Kayla Walker and Megan Anderson; nephews Steven Anderson and Ryan Karnik, married to Kate Karnik; her grandmother Rose Marie Karnik; aunt Judy Paulson and cousins Trisha Peterson and Lori Hennes. Survivors on Bill's side of the family include her in-laws Milton King and Beverly King, her sister in law Kim Sarnacki, married to Mike Sarnacki, niece Kate Sarnacki, nephew Jack Sarnacki and a large extended family.
A visitation will be held Thursday January 17th, 2013 at Rundus Funeral home located at 1998 W 10th Ave. Broomfield, CO 80020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Services will be conducted by Msgr. Robert Amundsen Friday January 18th, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church located at 715 Cabrini Dr. Lafayette, CO 80026 at 10:00 a.m. Following the services there will be a gathering for family and friends at Anthem Highland's Parkside Community Center located at 3624 Parkside Center Dr. Broomfield, CO 80023.
In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to one of the following organizations; Judi's House, Hospice Care of Boulder and Broomfield Counties or M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Kris has developed many, many friends over the years. The outpouring of support from friends, neighbors, the kids' schools and teammates during her cancer battle lifted up her family. You have all made a difficult situation bearable. Words cannot express the depth of our gratitude for your graciousness. It speaks volumes about the kind of sweet, gentle, loving people Kristin and Bill have been.
